Columbia Energy’s success as a small business in the competitive government market continues to be dependent on providing quality and safely performed work for our clients. We perform work using a graded approach which allows for applying a quality control consistent with project specific requirements.
We also have an established ASME NQA-1-2008 Quality Assurance Program (QAP) and the applicable implementing procedures. The current Columbia Energy Quality Assurance Manual (CE-M-001, Rev. 19) is organized to address all 18 requirements of NQA-1 2008, including NQA-1a-2009 addendum, as applicable to our work.
Our QA Program (CE-M-001) addresses 10 CFR 830, Nuclear Safety Management, Subpart A, “Quality Assurance Requirements”, and in accordance with the provisions of DOE O 414.1D and attachments I and II. Columbia Energy uses NQA-1-2008 with 1a-2009 addenda as the national consensus standard applied to activities affecting quality.
Further, our QAP includes prescribed processes and training necessary to meet the applicable Nuclear Safety Rules. Provisions are included to address compliance with the Articles entitled Price-Anderson Amendments Act (PAAA) and therequired screening, review, and reporting of noncompliance in support of nuclear safety rule requirements.
